Simulation of power plants and thermal plants

The textbook of Bernd Epple, Reinhard Leithner, Wladimir Linzer und Heimo Walter Simulation von Kraftwerken und wärmetechnischen Anlagen is now available in book trade.

The textbook treats besides the basics of flow simulation and the modeling of components and complete systems of power plant technology. Basic equations for heat and mass transfer are repeated and recycled for use in the numerical simulation. The book discusses in detail selected numerical methods. It includes the simulation of furnaces, gas flows and the water / steam flow. Regulation and control, simplified models and hybrid models and the validation of measurements are discussed.

Numerous worked examples and illustrations facilitate the readers understanding of the relationships between theory and practice.
